The story follows Jules, played by Frédéric Andréi, a young Parisian postman who becomes obsessed with an internationally renowned opera singer, Cynthia Hawkins, portrayed by Wilhelmenia Wiggins Fernandez. After secretly making a recording of one of her performances, Jules finds himself caught up in a dangerous web of crime and intrigue that stretches far beyond his original intentions. As mysterious pursuers close in, he must navigate a labyrinthine Paris filled with eccentric characters, hidden motives and unexpected alliances.
Renowned for its striking cinematography, vibrant use of colour and evocative soundtrack, Diva remains as captivating today as it was on its release. Equal parts thriller and dreamscape, it is a film that celebrates the power of art while immersing audiences in a uniquely stylish vision of the city.
