SUMMARY:Film Show: In the Loop
DESCRIPTION:Introduced by film producer Kevin Loader\nDoors: 7.15pm • Int
 roduction: 7.45pm • Film: 8.00pm\n\nUK • 2009 • 1h 46m • 15\n\nIn
the Loop\, directed by Armando Iannucci\, is a biting political satire tha
t hilariously skewers the backroom dealings\, media spin\, and sheer incom
petence at the heart of government decision-making. When a well-meaning bu
t hapless British minister\, played by Tom Hollander\, makes an offhand re
mark about a potential war\, he inadvertently sets off a whirlwind of tran
satlantic chaos. Peter Capaldi delivers a blistering performance as Malcol
 m Tucker\, the government’s foul-mouthed spin doctor\, who will do whate
ver it takes to control the narrative.\n\nFeaturing a stellar ensemble cas
t\, including Gina McKee\, James Gandolfini\, Chris Addison\, and Anna Chl
umsky\, the film races through a world of scheming politicians\, clueless
aides\, and ruthless bureaucrats. Packed with razor-sharp dialogue\, rapid
-fire insults\, and a satirical take on the absurdity of modern diplomacy\
, In the Loop is an unforgettable\, darkly funny look at how decisions wit
 h global consequences are made—or fumbled—behind closed doors.\n\n\n\n
