When he returns to his New York office one day to discover that his colleagues have been murdered, Turner suddenly finds himself on the run, unsure of who he can trust or why he has become a target.
With Faye Dunaway as Kathy Hale, a woman Turner encounters while desperately seeking somewhere to hide, and Max von Sydow as the mysterious professional assassin Joubert, the film brings together a superb cast at the height of their careers. The chemistry between Redford and Dunaway adds an unexpected human dimension to the mounting tension.
Clever, suspenseful and unsettling, Three Days of the Condor is a classic of 1970s American cinema. Its themes of surveillance, government secrecy and institutional mistrust feel remarkably prescient, while Pollack’s direction keeps the audience guessing until the very end.
