SUMMARY:Film Show: Three Days of the Condor
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 7.15pm • Introduction: 7.45pm • Film: 8.00pm\nEnter
the shadowy world of 1970s espionage with Three Days of the Condor\, the g
ripping thriller directed by Sydney Pollack. Tense\, intelligent and deepl
y atmospheric\, the film captures the paranoia of the post-Watergate era a
nd remains a standout example of the sophisticated political thrillers of
its time.\nThe story follows Joe Turner\, known by his code name Condor an
d played by Robert Redford\, a CIA researcher whose job is to read books a
nd uncover hidden connections in intelligence reports. When he returns to
his New York office one day to discover that his colleagues have been murd
ered\, Turner suddenly finds himself on the run\, unsure of who he can tru
st or why he has become a target.\nWith Faye Dunaway as Kathy Hale\, a wom
an Turner encounters while desperately seeking somewhere to hide\, and Max
von Sydow as the mysterious professional assassin Joubert\, the film brin
gs together a superb cast at the height of their careers. The chemistry be
tween Redford and Dunaway adds an unexpected human dimension to the mounti
ng tension.\nClever\, suspenseful and unsettling\, Three Days of the Condo
r is a classic of 1970s American cinema. Its themes of surveillance\, gove
rnment secrecy and institutional mistrust feel remarkably prescient\, whil
e Pollack's direction keeps the audience guessing until the very end.\n\n\
