Free Community Yoga Class
About the class
These gentle Hatha yoga classes are suitable for beginners and open to all. Classes are taught at a slow, accessible pace and focus on mindful movement, breathing, and relaxation. The emphasis is on creating a calm, welcoming, non-judgemental and non-competitive space where people can practise comfortably, regardless of experience. Classes usually begin with simple breathing exercises to help settle the body and mind, followed by gentle warm-up movements and a small number of basic yoga postures, depending on the focus of the class. Each session ends with a longer guided relaxation, allowing time to rest the mind and body, and integrate the practice before re-entering the world. Occasionally, gentle sounds (Tibetan singing bowls) and optional touch may be used during relaxation to support rest.
About Hatha Yoga
Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga that combines physical postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation. It is generally slower and more grounding than fast-paced styles, making it particularly well suited to beginners, as well as anyone looking for a steady, mindful approach to movement.
About the teacher
The classes are taught by Corall Friedman, a 200-hour qualified Hatha yoga teacher with over a decade of personal yoga and meditation practice. After leaving her career in the London tech industry back in 2023, Corall has spent the last two years travelling across India, Sri Lanka and Nepal, where she completed her yoga teacher training, studied sound healing and attended several meditation retreats, including from the Tibetan Buddhist and Vipassana traditions. She taught Hatha yoga for several months in Sri Lanka, before returning to London to bring her knowledge back to her local community in North London. Her teaching style is gentle, inclusive, and supportive, with a focus on helping students feel comfortable, safe, and at ease in their bodies.
